The Oakland County Animal Control & Pet Adoption Center is hosting a “Certified Pre-Owned Cat Adoption” event on Saturday, July 12th from 10am – 4pm at their location in Auburn Hills. Individuals who meet screening requirements may adopt cats for FREE on Saturday; dogs will also be available for adoption, at their regular prices.
In addition to adoptable pets, the public can enjoy on-site food trucks, bounce houses, face painting, a psychic, pet supply vendors, and much more! The event is a part of a series of events hosted by the Center, which is competing to win a $100,000 grant from Rachel Ray and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
With an objective to save more lives, the $100,000 grant will go to the animal shelter with the most improved adoption numbers. Oakland County’s goal is to adopt out 2,014 pets during the months of June, July, and August. Learn more about the ASPCA’s #100KChallenge HERE.
