Patriot Week is a time to celebrate and honor America’s First Principles. Created by Circuit Court Judge Michael Warren and his daughter in 2009, it’s a time to reflect upon the ideals, documents, and historical figures that represent the best of the United States. Patriot Week begins on September 11th, honoring the nearly 3,000 Americans who lost their lives in 2001, and ends on September 17th, Constitution Day.
Special events ranging from solemn remembrances and discussions, to lively celebrations, lectures, and presentations have been scheduled throughout Patriot Week and beyond. Constitution Day at the Oakland County Circuit Court will give middle school students a chance to learn about the Constitution first hand through a wide range of engaging activities, including special speakers, Constitution Quiz Bowl, and mock trials. The event, hosted by the Oakland County Circuit and Probate Courts on September 14th, is free and open to the public.
