Children in Oakland County will be snorting with excitement as they jump into the world of hit British animation series, Peppa Pig. Laugh, learn, and play at their brand-new ADA accessible indoor play center Peppa Pig’s World of Play at Great Lakes Crossing Outlets in Auburn Hills. 

Spark the imagination of your favorite little piggies as they explore the sensory garden with Suzy Sheep or ride on Grandpa Pig’s train. The 14,000-square-foot indoor play center features 14 interactive, activity-based play areas designed to fuel the imaginations of pre-school children while bringing the world of Peppa Pig to life.

This is only the second Peppa Pig’s World of Play located in the United States. The other U.S. location is in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. There is also a location in Shanghai, China.

Peppa Pig World of Play is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The last admission for entry is 90 minutes before closing.

Your ticket will allow for 2 hours of play time and it is recommend that you arrive 15 minutes before the time printed on your tickets. Adult-and-child combo tickets start at $22.50 with additional adults (ages 9 and older) tickets for $5 and additional children (6 months to 8) for $15. Photo packages and activity packages are also available to purchase. Tickets and extras can be purchased in advance on their website.

For hygiene and safety reasons, please pack children’s non-slip socks as they’ll need to remove their shoes in some of the play areas.

Memories Created in Oakland County at the Michigan State Fair

The Michigan State Fair brought over 100,000 people together at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi over Labor Day weekend. The annual event attracted people from all across the state for an exciting day full of fun for the whole family.

Attendees enjoyed a variety of thrilling Midway rides like the Orbiter and the Zipper while there was also a more relaxing Ferris wheel for everyone to enjoy. Food options were numerous with options varying from a Farmer’s Market to Elephant Ear stands. Musical acts delighted audiences throughout every day of the event.

The Great Marshmallow Drop!

The Great Marshmallow Drop will be here soon! Mark your calendars for Friday, March 30th and head to Catalpa Oaks County Park in Southfield for this FREE family fun event with Oakland County Parks and Recreation. The fun begins at 10 a.m. and goes until noon.

Little kids and big kids will be delighted and amazed as a helicopter drops 15,000 marshmallows down from the sky. Children can collect a marshmallow and turn it in for a cool prize. If you haven’t experienced this event yet, add it to your bucket list and enjoy a creative twist on the typical Easter Egg hunt.

Marshmallows will be dropped three times to accommodate multiple age groups:

  • Ages 4 and younger, along with individuals with disabilities
  • Ages 5 – 7
  • Ages 8 – 12

This FREE event is presented by Oakland County Credit Union. Volunteers from Oakland County Parks and Recreation, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department, and other community members will be on hand to help out with the festivities.
