Do you love to shop local? The Oakland County Farmers Market at 2350 Pontiac Lake Road, Waterford, MI 48328 is a mainstay for providing grower-direct fresh produce and flowers to county residents and visitors. Hosting more than 100 farmers and artisans, from 17 Michigan counties, shoppers will find fresh vegetables, fruits and baked goods as well as flowers, crafts and more.

Spend the day at the market and enjoy a breakfast sandwich or barbecue lunch served by market vendors. The market also hosts many special events, educational programs, cooking demonstrations and can be rented by the public for various purposes.

Halloween is just around the corner and one very recognizable sign of the season is everywhere. Pumpkins are transforming into an incredible array of spooky jack-o-lanterns that perch patiently on porches, waiting to delight masked goblins, witches, and superheroes. Others wait to be chosen from roadside stands, and hundreds more, of every conceivable size, are for sale at the Oakland County Farmers Market. Grocery store displays of pumpkins are placed strategically near the door to draw attention, almost as if they are pleading, “Pick me! Pick me!”

Do you love to shop local? Farmers Markets across Oakland County will soon be setting up to bring you farm-fresh produce, artisan crafts, and vibrant flowers. Before you know it, you’ll be weaving through brightly colored tables at your neighborhood farm stand in search of succulent strawberries, cool cucumbers, gorgeous greens, and more. We’re thrilled that Farmers Market Season is finally upon us!

Most area Farmers Markets are open May through October, with days and hours varying by location. Get Farm Fresh Fare at Your Local Farmers Market

It’s as fresh as it gets and it’s right down the road. For some, it’s right next door. With pop-up tents, long tables and table covers, the local farmers markets set up shop every weekend in the spring, summer and fall.

This year is no different. The markets open in May and close out in October. Hours always vary by location, but the quality of the produce stays the same.

You’ll find fresh asparagus, crisp snap peas, ripe tomatoes, sweet corn and the greenest green beans, along with other summer favorites. Farmers markets also present a large floral selection to dress up your lawn or patio.
