The Fourth of July is nearly here! All across Oakland County, communities are putting on firework displays in celebration of our country’s Independence Day. Firework shows begin as soon as June 24th and conclude on July 8th. Visit the beautiful Kensington Metropark and witness a wonderful fireworks display on June 29th, or celebrate July 4th on the day itself at the Independence Festival in Clintwood Park in Clarkston.
Wherever you decide to go, grab a blanket, pack a picnic basket, and get ready to shout, “OOH” and “AAH” at any of the many shows in Oakland County.
As dusk sets, everyone settles into their lawn chairs and blankets. The light from the sun disappears leaving nothing but a quiet chatter underneath a sky of stars.
A high pitched whistle sounds as the first firework is lit. The next 30 minutes are filled with resounding booms, snaps and crackles as red, white and blue colors decorate the night sky.
Fireworks displays are set off in honor of Independence Day all over the U.S. including many communities in and around Oakland County.
For most people, the 4th of July is nothing without spectacular fireworks illuminating the night sky. A number of Oakland County communities
will be celebrating over the next few weeks.
Here is our list of upcoming firework displays around Oakland County– most of these shows begin at dusk, so grab a blanket or some lawn chairs and be prepared to be amazed.
