The Fourth of July is nearly here! All across Oakland County, communities are putting on firework displays in celebration of our country’s Independence Day. Firework shows begin as soon as June 24th and conclude on July 8th. Visit the beautiful Kensington Metropark and witness a wonderful fireworks display on June 29th, or celebrate July 4th on the day itself at the Independence Festival in Clintwood Park in Clarkston.
Wherever you decide to go, grab a blanket, pack a picnic basket, and get ready to shout, “OOH” and “AAH” at any of the many shows in Oakland County.

Hate ’em. It’s no longer a celebration of the Fourth. It’s a commercial enterprise that lasts two weeks. Drives animals nuts and me, too.
Love them on the Fourth, but dread the two weeks.
