As dusk sets, everyone settles into their lawn chairs and blankets. The light from the sun disappears leaving nothing but a quiet chatter underneath a sky of stars.
A high pitched whistle sounds as the first firework is lit. The next 30 minutes are filled with resounding booms, snaps and crackles as red, white and blue colors decorate the night sky.
Fireworks displays are set off in honor of Independence Day all over the U.S. including many communities in and around Oakland County.
The Independence day holiday brings Americans together to celebrate a collective pursuit of freedom and the American dream. Many celebratory events taking place on or around the Fourth of July are held at the close of or in conjunction with running events, festivals, and parades.
Whether you are watching fireworks on one of Oakland County’s many lakes or setting up your lawn chair at a park, you are sure to see a vivid show filled with vibrant colors.
