Drop In for Pickleball in Oakland County

Pickleball courts have been popping up steadily throughout Oakland County for the past few years — and for good reasons.

It’s Fun for All

Pickleball blends table tennis, tennis and badminton to create a sport that can be recreational or competitive. It has two or four players who use solid paddles to hit a perforated plastic ball over a low net. Invented in 1965 for families to take part in together, the game is naturally geared toward all ages, abilities and skill levels. Visit usapickleball.org for more information on how to play.

It Has Health Benefits

Pickleball supports two kinds of wellness: physical health by improving hand-eye coordination, agility and strength, as well as mental health by providing social connection while teammates work together to make plays across the court. Just be sure to stretch, hydrate and eat well to reduce your chances of injuries.
