Be Prepared for Emergencies in Oakland County with OakAlert Notification System

When emergencies happen, it is important to be informed sooner rather than later to prepare for your family’s safety. OakAlert, which is Oakland County’s emergency notification system, sends texts, calls and emails when emergency situations occur where you are or where you live.

Because notices come from Oakland County Emergency Management, you can get information quickly on situations like:

•             Chemical spills impacting public health (like a shelter-in-place order)

•             Outdoor warning siren activation

•             Active assailant situations causing an evacuation

•             Closure or interruption in service of County operations

•             Additional incidents affecting the health and safety of the county

  1. I work in building 26 and tried to sign up for the Oak Alert. On my phone and on the computer I was prompted to drop a pin to designate my location because I put in 1200 N. Telegraph. Neither device was able to drop a pin.
