It’s vast, open and Michigan-made; truly a one-stop-shop where you can purchase almost anything.
With handcrafted clothing, jewelry, art and housewares, The Rust Belt Market is a unique and one-of-a-kind weekend marketplace. It is here where more than 50 local, independent vendors and artists display and sell their work to other proud Michiganders.
This grand shopping experience can be found in the heart of downtown Ferndale at 9-Mile and Woodward. Unlike any other shopping mall in the state, the Rust Belt Market has been awarded a number of “Best of…” awards from Hour Detroit and the Detroit MetroTimes, including 2016 Hour Detroit’s “Best Place to Buy Local Craft”, and the 2016 MetroTimes “Best Local Shopping Experience”.
Featuring, not just independent shops, but also an entertainment area and a full-service bar, the 4,000 sq ft space is open Fridays 2 to 7 p.m., Saturdays 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays 11 am. to 6 p.m.
All goods sold at the Market must be either handmade or carefully collected vintage items. Work is judged based on quality, artistic merit and merchandising. Check out a full list of The Rust Belt Market’s independent shops and vendors here.
