Spring Fun in Oakland County!

There are so many ways to have a great time and enjoy the outdoors in Oakland County, but here are some of our very favorites! Take a look at our video for a preview of what you can expect when you visit Kensington Metropark, The Adventure Park at West Bloomfield, MSU Extension’s Master Gardener Program and Wint Nature Center at Independence Oaks County Park.

Kensington Metropark, in Milford, is definitely one of the most popular parks in Michigan. When you visit, you can take advantage of biking, hiking, boating, golfing, swimming, a farm center and more. There really is something for everyone at Kensington. It’s the perfect place to bring your family!

Baby-Lambs

The Adventure Park at West Bloomfield is an amazing aerial forest park that offers some of the best ziplining in Michigan. You don’t have to be an expert (or even close) to begin your adventure in the trees. Spending your day in the aerial forest trails is an awesome way to lead both children and adults on self discovery and team building climbing adventures.

Rope-Climb

MSU Extension Master Gardener Program is a wonderful place to test out your green thumb and advance your gardening skills. You’ll attend classes and learn basic horticultural principles and environmentally-sound gardening practices.  After, you’ll get the opportunity to participate as a volunteer in your community to become a certified master gardener.

Succulants

Wint Nature Center at Independence Oaks County Park hosts exciting, hands-on nature-education and natural history programs year round. It’s a great place for school-age field trips, birthday parties, and Scout Badge Days. Did you know it has a feeding station viewing area? It even has a sensory garden and an amphitheater that can accommodate 150-200 guests for weddings or other events. It’s a fantastic place to fall in love with nature!
