Dogs, Dogs, Dogs – The Michigan Winter Dog Classic

This weekend (January 15-18, 2015) thousands of dog enthusiasts will make their way to the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi to watch a wide variety of prancing pooches in the show ring at the Michigan Winter Classic Dog Show. The show, which is now Michigan’s largest, also offers breed seminars and access to many of the breeds recognized by the American Kennel Club.

The show will host more than 7,000 dogs representing over 160 breeds, throughout the 4-day show. Many of the canine champions that will be competing at the show include a few that are getting ready to strut their stuff at the country’s premier show, the Westminster Kennel Club Dog show, in New York this February.

Other items of interest at the show include Duck Herding, Police Dog demonstrations and a family favorite, Dock Diving. Dock diving is a fast-growing sport that is fun for dogs of all breeds and sizes.

Throughout the show, vendors will be selling everything imaginable for the dog and many unique gifts for dog owner; from T-shirts and sweaters to canine grooming accessories to motorized dog treadmills. A sparkly tiara for your pooch, anybody?
