Volunteering with Parks & Recreation

If you’re looking for a way to give back to the community, meet new people, and make a difference in the lives of others, look no further than the volunteer opportunities at Oakland County Parks & Recreation!

The success and ongoing support of Oakland County Parks & Recreation’s recreational and environmental programs depend greatly on volunteers and members of our community. There are several ways to get involved – whether you’re a high school student, an adult, senior, or a group/organization.

To volunteer as an individual, print and complete the Volunteer Application or Golf Volunteer Application and return it to volunteer@oakgov.com or mail your form to:

If you are a member of a group and interested in setting up a group volunteer event, please contact Oakland County Parks & Recreation at (248) 975-9717,or email volunteer@oakgov.com.

Once your application has been received, the Parks & Recreation department will contact you to discuss volunteer placements. And with so many volunteer opportunities available throughout the Oakland County Parks & Recreation system, we will work to find the perfect placement for YOU.

Opportunities currently range from Adaptive Recreation (assisting in hosting special, sport, and social events for individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities, seniors, and veterans), to BMX (weekly operations of the bicycle motocross at Waterford Oaks County Park), Dog Parks (Park Ambassadors), and everything in between!
