Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson honored 350 Emerging Sector companies responsible for a total investment of $3 billion in the past 11 years on Tuesday, October 13th, 2015. The sky was the limit with business leaders, government officials, and other attendees at the Oakland County International Airport. The companies were celebrated with several corporate jets and vintage cars for touring, along with a vintage 1928 Ford Tri-Motor Airliner on display. Special guest Edsel Ford, the owner of Pentastar Aviation was also in attendance.

Congrats to OUWB’s Charter Class 2015 Graduates!

Congratulations to the 47 students who graduated from Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine (OUWB) last Friday, May 15, 2015. The graduates make up the first class to graduate from OUWB and were selected from more than 3,200 applicants nationwide. The OUWB medical school opened in 2011 as Michigan’s first new M.D.-granting allopathic medical school in nearly 50 years and Oakland County’s first medical school ever. Continue reading

2014 “INNO-VATOR of the Year” to be awarded to OcuSciences, Inc

Each year Medical Main Street honors the creators of a medical device that demonstrates the most dramatic change in the health care industry in Michigan. The device must be developed in Michigan, achieve prototype development and integrate a game-changing innovation to be considered.

This year, the “INNO-VATOR of the Year” will be awarded to OcuSciences, Inc., an Ann Arbor-based medical device manufacturer, that developed a technology that can detect eye diseases, such as diabetes, macular degeneration and glaucoma, years earlier than current detection methods.
