The Dream is Near – High School Football Semi-Finals

When the High School football season started back in August, there were 584 teams that had the dream of going to the State Championships at Ford Field in November.

The regular season ended in October, 256 teams earned or were selected to take part in this years playoffs.

Three weeks later, 32 teams remain. Many deserving Oakland County teams’ season came to a end early, while five surviving teams are continuing the quest to become a state champ. Continue reading

2014 Michigan High School Football Playoffs

High School FootballOn the evening of October 26, the teams for this year’s Michigan High School Football Championships were made.

There were 229 automatic qualifying teams (by win total) – with the final 27 teams selected by playoff-point average, one from each class in order (A, B, C, D) until the field was filled.

Those 256 11-player teams are then split into eight equal divisions based on the schools enrollment. Two teams from each of the eight divisions will be in the Championship Games at Ford Field on either November 28th or November 29th.
