On Veterans Day, we honor those who have served in the United States Armed Forces and recognize the sacrifices and dedication they’ve made to protect our country.
Oakland County is proud to be home to thousands of veterans and their families. Local cities, villages and townships are hosting events to celebrate these brave individuals.
As a symbol of honor and support, the Oakland County Circuit Courthouse, located at 1200 North Telegraph in Pontiac, will be illuminated in green light Nov. 10-16. The initiative, known as Operation Green Light, was started by the National Association of Counties to show appreciation for our nation’s veterans.

In addition to attending events, there are other ways to support our veterans. Consider donating to Oakland County Veterans’ Services’ “Be a Hero, Support a Hero” campaign. Every dollar contributed helps ensure that no veteran in our community goes hungry, lacks reliable transportation, or misses out on vital resources. You can also explore resources provided by Oakland County Veterans’ Services, which has been providing local veterans and their families with assistance for more than 60 years.
