Suppliers who are looking to expand and do business with government agencies, schools, universities, and local businesses are invited to attend Diverse Connections, an event co-hosted by Oakland County and Oakland Thrive.
The event will take place Thursday, Nov. 6 at the Detroit Marriot in Troy from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. It’s not just a general conference. It’s an opportunity to gain knowledge about connecting with Oakland County to grow your business.
- The day will begin with a continental breakfast and welcoming remarks from Oakland County Executive David Coulter, Chief DEI Officer Harry Weaver III, and Deputy County Executive Sean Carlson.
- NEW for 2025: Breakout session! Todd Terry from Allstate will present “The What IFs” of having insurance. This presentation will be offered twice: from 10-10:45 a.m. and 11-11:45 a.m. Space is limited; register for either session at the registration table on the morning of the event.
- Another session will feature Tony Cook, Interim COO of Oakland Thrive, speaking on “Becoming a Dynamic Supplier.”
- Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with the Oakland County Buyers and Purchasing Management team. Participants will also be able to practice their business pitches, providing an opportunity to refine presentation skills, build rapport, and position your business for future contracts.
The fee to attend is $25, and registration is required. Walk-in registration is available.
