2025 NoHaz Collection Days

Household chores and DIY projects often leave us with leftover hazardous materials ranging from pesticides, paints, air fresheners, propane cylinders to cleaning solutions. The NoHaz Collection team is here to help Oakland County residents dispose of these items in an environmentally responsible way. Though these items have made some of our day-to-day tasks easier, they can also be toxic to our health and environment when we use and dispose of them in the regular trash. Unlike industrial hazardous waste, household hazardous wastes are not regulated.

Got a pile of mystery chemicals lurking in your garage? Wondering if that old paint thinner can  be recycled? Check the comprehensive lists of accepted and non-accepted materials on the NoHaz webpage‘s FAQ section or give the NoHaz Hotline a call at (248) 858-5656 for guidance. No commercial, contractor, business or institutional waste will be accepted. For liquids, please ensure they are securely sealed in containers no larger than five gallons for safe handling.
