The Great Marshmallow Drop is returning Friday, April 7 after a 3-year hiatus! Mark your calendars and prepare to spend the morning at Catalpa Oaks County Park in Southfield to enjoy this free family-friendly event hosted by Oakland County Parks.
Kids of all ages are welcome to come out to experience the enchantment of 15,000 marshmallows dropping from a helicopter. Children are encouraged to collect the marshmallows to turn them in for a cool prize bag. Only one marshmallow is needed to exchange for a prize bag. If you haven’t attended this event in the past, be sure to add it to your things-to-do list and enjoy a creative spin on traditional Easter egg hunts.
Check out this video for a glimpse of the fun!
The event kicks off at 10 a.m. Marshmallows will be dropped four times to accommodate multiple age groups:
- Ages 4 and younger
- Ages 5 – 7
- Ages 8 – 12
- Individuals with disabilities at 11:30 a.m.

This free event would not be possible without community members who will be onsite helping with festivities, Oakland County Parks staff and presenting sponsor, Vibe Credit Union.
