Soaring Eagle Arts Beats & Eats, the annual festival filled with artwork, live music, and mouth-watering cuisine, is back for its 25th year this Labor Day weekend in Downtown Royal Oak. From September 2nd through 5th, festival-goers will be treated to the 2022 Juried Fine Art Show, live performances across several stages, and a variety of food trucks and restaurant booths featuring unique cultural dishes, classic American cuisine, summer fun food, desserts and more.

Whether you prefer ceramics, digital art, or drawings and pastels, you’ll be able to find it and so much more at the 2022 Juried Fine Arts Show, where artists from all over the United States will converge to show off and sell their masterpieces. The level of artistry in the pieces on display make them the perfect gifts, home decorations, and even investments in the future of both locally and nationally known artists.

The art fair hours are:  

  • Sept 2, 3, and 4: 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.
  • Sept. 5: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Music & Live Performances

As adults jam out to rock bands like Spiral Crush and R&B favorites like Drey Skonie and The kLouds Band, younger festival goers are sure to love the Kids Stage, where a mix of music and whimsy is front-and-center. Highlights include demonstrations from the Michigan Science Center, Juggler Tim Salisbury, and Kevin Devine’s Rollicking Music Show.

Food

Need to refuel between musical acts? Arts, Beats & Eats welcomes the best in Southeast Michigan eats. Many Metro Detroit restaurants and caterers will be in attendance, including Eight Claw Crab Boil, Fork in Nigeria, Crispelli’sCool Jacks, and Eureka Eatery, just to name a few.

Admission

The cost of admission varies based on time of entry. On Friday, the festival is free to enter until 5 p.m.; after 5 p.m. the price is $10. On Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, admission is $5 before 3 p.m. and $10 after 3 p.m. Children under 3 are free at all times. This admission fee supports the festival as well as 14 non-profit partners. 

Active duty military and veterans are invited to attend Soaring Eagle Arts, Beats & Eats for free. Present your military ID at any festival entrance ticket booth for a free ticket.
