How To Watch: Oakland 2021 State Of The County Address

The 2021 Oakland County State of The County address will air next week on Wednesday, May 19th, at 7 p.m. from Stagecrafters at the Baldwin Theater in Royal Oak in a virtual format in order to comply with Coronavirus precautions.

Oakland County Executive David Coulter will speak to the resilience of Oakland County’s people, employees and businesses as they’ve endured 14 months of living with COVID-19, perhaps the most challenging public health and economic crisis of our lifetime. His look ahead will include how his administration is building Oakland County’s future now and the county’s priorities for investing its $244 million share of the American Rescue Plan.

Getting through the pandemic has tested the county, its residents and businesses, but has shown that we are all up to the challenge and are prepared to begin building the county’s future now, together.

Looking back over a year like no other, as well as toward the goals of the future, Coulter will provide a recap of the progress made on key priorities and offer a glimpse at the transformational changes that lie ahead, building on Oakland’s strengths, addressing our disparities and preparing us for a strong future.

In addition, Oakland County will livestream the event on the County Executive website, OakGov.com/Exec, as well as Oakland County’s YouTube channel, @OakGov, and the Executive Office Facebook page, @OakGov.EO. The county’s Twitter handle, @OakGov, will feature live tweets with highlights from the speech. Those listening to the speech are encouraged to use the hashtag #OCSOTC21 to join the conversation.
