The 2020 Oakland County State of the County address will be held Wednesday, February 12th at The Flagstar Strand Theatre in Pontiac at 7 p.m. Oakland County Executive, David Coulter, will address over 600 Oakland County business, community, and political leaders at this invitation-only event.
His first State of the County address, Coulter’s theme for this year’s speech is, “Oakland Together,” which is his vision for how we can work together in Oakland County to leverage our strengths, address our challenges, and find value in working with regional partners. He will also announce several key initiatives and review accomplishments from the past year.
Coulter also will host the first public gathering of the County Executive’s Elite 40 Under 40 Class of 2020. The invitation-only reception immediately precedes the State of the County address and will be held in the upper level of the Strand.

The speech will be available to the widest possible audience. WDET-FM (101.9) returns to air the speech live. In addition, Oakland County will livestream the event on the County Executive website, OakGov.com/Exec, as well as Oakland County’s YouTube channel, @OakGov, and the Executive Office Facebook page, @OakGov.EO. The county’s Twitter handle, @OakGov, will feature live tweets with highlights from the speech. Those listening to the speech are encouraged to use the hashtag #OaklandTogether to join the conversation.
An American Sign Language Interpreter will also be interpreting during the speech.
