Have a Doggone Good Time at Oakland County Parks’ Dog Swim!

Summer’s coming to an end, but that means dogs all over Oakland County will be hoping their owners take them out for a doggy swim at Oakland County Parks and Recreation’s annual dog swim. Waterford Oaks and Red Oaks Waterparks will be open for dogs only on September 9th and 10th, respectively.

Check out our video from last year’s dog swim to see the water romping and tail-wagging fun that’s in store for your canine kid.

Your day at the doggy waterpark will be broken into sections, based on the weight of your dog. 75 dogs are allowed in the pool during each time slot.

Registration includes waterpark entry, a souvenir for each dog’s human, and entry into the “Best Wet Look” and “Best Swimsuit” contests.

Registration forms can be found on the Oakland County Parks website. All owners must show a valid Michigan Dog License and proof of vaccinations at the time of the event. The cost is $10 (emailed and faxed registrations accepted through September 6th at noon) and $15 at the gate, based on availability.
