Watch or Listen in! 2017 Oakland County State of the County

The 2017 Oakland County State of the County will be held Wednesday, February 8th at 7:00 p.m. at the Auburn Hills Marriott PontiacOakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson will be addressing over 600 Oakland County business, community, and political leaders at this invitation-only event. The County Executive will highlight why 2017 will be a big year for Oakland County. From the latest in Emerging Sectors to improvements in public safety, Patterson will outline why Oakland County’s best accomplishments still lie ahead. The winner of the Elite 40 Under 40 Class of 2017 will also be revealed during the address.

For the first time, the State of the County address will utilize an American Sign Language interpreter. This year the speech will reach the widest audience possible through radio, tv, and digital media. WDET-FM (101.9) will air the speech live. Oakland County will live stream the event on its website, OakGov.com, and upload it to the county’s YouTube channel as well as through Facebook Live on the Executive Office, Oakland County, Michigan Facebook Page. The county’s Twitter handle, @OakGov, will feature live tweets with highlights from the speech. Digital copies of the typewritten speech will be available afterward at OakGov.com/exec and the Executive Office Facebook page. Civic Center TV will carry the speech live and distribute it to other local cable channels for re-airing throughout February.

Those watching or listening to the speech are encouraged to follow along using hashtag #Brooks2017 to join the conversation.

All media are welcome to attend this invitation-only event. Please call Jaime Fenner at 248-858-1049 by Tuesday, Feb. 7 to confirm your attendance. An audio mult box and Wi-Fi will be available. Media who wish to live stream the speech may get the embed code ahead of time from the Office of Media & Communications.
