Light up your holiday season with an adventure to the Detroit Zoo Wild Lights. This spectacular display of 265 sculptures, trees, and buildings is comprised of more than five million LED lights! Wild Lights illuminates the zoo for 24 nights throughout November and December.

Light Up Your Holiday Season with Wild Lights at the Detroit Zoo!

Brighten your holiday season with a trip to the Detroit Zoo! They’ll be lighting up the nights again this holiday season with Wild Lights! You can view the spectacular light display of over five million LED lights for 24 nights in November and December. The bright and festive lights will illuminate trees, buildings, and more than 230 animal sculptures throughout the front half of the Zoo.

New features for this year include nearly 600 light tubes that sway to music, an Antarctic-themed projection on the Polk Penguin Conservation Center, and a bug display.

Wild Lights will be held from 5:30 – 9:00 p.m. on:

        • November 18th – 19th
        • November 24th – 26th
        • December 1st – 3rd
        • December 8th – 10th
        • December 15th – 17th
        • December 20th – 23rd
        • December 26th – 31st

Purchasing advanced tickets is recommended and can be done at the front gate or online. Tickets sold in advance range from $10 – $16. Walk-up tickets sold at the gate for all nights and time slots are $16. Parking is $7 per vehicle. Children younger than 2 are admitted free.

The Wild Lights pathway will allow you to view the Otter Habitat, the Beaver Habitat, the Reptile House, and the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition in the Ford Education Center. All other animal habitats and buildings will be closed for the evening.

Carousel rides and photos with Santa Claus will also be available for purchase and the Arctic Cafe will be open for food and beverage purchases as well.

Looking for more holiday fun at Wild Lights?

The Rudolph Package, which includes one untimed admission for Wild Lights and one ticket to the 4-D Theater to see “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer 4-D”, is $18 for any night of the event.

The Winter Rink Package, which includes one untimed admission for Wild Lights and one session on the skating rink, is also $18.
