The annual Oakland County Fair is nearly here! From July 6 to July 15, 2018, people from all across Michigan will be arriving on the fairgrounds at Springfield Oaks County Park in Davisburg, Michigan to celebrate over a week of family-friendly fun. With a few new events, as well as many returning favorites, this year’s fair is surely going to be Oakland County’s hottest July destination spot.
Spring is in the air and that means baby animals are on their way. Kensington Metropark Farm Center gives visitors a glimpse of life on the farm that includes the birth of new animals in the Spring. The 150-year old restored barn is located in Milford, inside Kensington Metropark, and features special programs on animals, historic farm techniques, and other farm-related topics.
The 2015 Oakland County 4-H Fair runs from July 3-12 at the Springfield Oaks County Park fairgrounds in Davisburg, located at 12451 Andersonville Road. Along with the traditional 4-H displays and activities, you can enjoy many family friendly activities, such as pig racing, a lumberjack show, a performing circus, hands on petting zoo and much more. Some of the popular nightly grandstand events include the Night of Destruction (demo derby), a rodeo, monster trucks and fireworks. In the tradition of the original Michigan State Fair, the Oakland County Fair will be offering a bottomless cup of chocolate milk for fifty cents. (Unlimited refills are free only with the original cup).
