Thousands strolled through town, passing each tent, stopping at some. Browsing portraits painted by local artists and jewelry handcrafted by Oakland County residents, all while taste testing some of the area’s best food from more than 40 local restaurants and caterers.
Rich aromas filled the air as steam rose from the food tents that lined the streets of LaFayette, Main and Washington.
Downtown Royal Oak was booming. The hustle and bustle of the annual Ford Arts, Beats & Eats Festival, presented by Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort, filled the streets – providing unique fun for all ages, whether you are an art buff, a music lover or a food critic.
One of Southeast Michigan’s most popular summertime events – Arts Beats & Eats – is returning to downtown Royal Oak on Labor Day weekend, and is bringing art, music, cuisine, and charity with it! Next weekend, thousands of people from across the state (and beyond!) will be visiting Oakland County for this annual festival.
Now in its 17th year, Arts Beats & Eats is an epicenter of culture for four days in wonderful and vibrant downtown Royal Oak.
Many residents of Oakland County look forward to the summer, not only for the warm weather and vacations, but to visit art fairs and craft shows that take place in the various communities in the county.
These shows have everything from paintings and pottery,to jewelry, photography, metal sculptures, glass and more. Most fairs will display the works of both local and national artists, for you to view, and if you like it, purchase it (to the delight of the artist).
Below is a list of the fairs and shows that we know of in the coming months.
