Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Oakland County

Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, is celebrated every March 17. While it began as a Christian holy day, the first St. Patrick’s parade was held in 1601 in Florida. St. Patrick’s Day became a more secular celebration as Irish immigration to the United States grew through the 19th and 20th centuries.

Today, Americans celebrate the holiday by watching parades, eating traditional Irish cuisine and donning something green. Join friends and family and celebrate at these St. Patrick’s Day festivities in Oakland County.
