Enjoy two days of wintery fun during this year’s Fireworks and Flannels celebration at Waterford Oaks County Park. Kick off the weekend’s festivities with the Light the Night Flannel 5K Friday, Feb. 13 and return Saturday, Feb. 14 for Cozy Night Out, an evening filled with winter activities.
To help you plan your weekend, here is a breakdown of the festivities:
Friday, Feb. 13: Light the Night Flannel 5K
- Time: 5-7 p.m.
- Activity: An “out and back” race that follows a beautiful, wooded trail through Waterford Oaks, with both paved and natural terrain. Participants are invited to run or walk while wearing their comfiest, coziest flannel, whether that’s warm flannel pajamas, a toasty flannel scarf or a well-loved flannel shirt.
- Cost: Race cost is $28/person and registration is required. Each participant will receive a themed race beanie, medal and drink ticket to return for Saturday’s beer tent, part of the Cozy Night Out event.

Saturday, Feb. 14: Cozy Night Out & Fireworks
- Time: 4-8 p.m.
- Activities: Relax with live music in the warmth of the beer tent, play winter games, create a craft, enjoy face painting, or stroll along the illuminated walking path from 4-8 p.m. The sledding hill will also be open, weather permitting. Food trucks will serve comfort food by the fire pit seating areas.
- The Beer Tent will be open Saturday only. Note to 5K Runners: This is when you can redeem the drink ticket earned during Friday night’s race.

Fireworks and Flannels will wrap up Saturday night with a frosty fireworks display beginning at 8 p.m. Visitors are invited to set up camping chairs to watch the fireworks display outdoors or enjoy the view from inside the comfort of a heated vehicle.

The cozy winter magic of Fireworks and Flannels doesn’t have to end! Visitors are welcome to enjoy the Illuminated Walking Path from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays Feb. 20-22 and Feb. 27-March 1, 2026.
