As the cold weather approaches, the need for warm outerwear significantly grows in our community. Oakland County Sheriff’s Office “Coats for the Cold” annual drive returns to Oakland County Nov. 1-30 to help ensure that our neighbors stay warm this winter.
Residents are asked to donate gently used or new coats. Donated coats will be sent to local charitable organizations that distribute the coats to community members in need.
How to Donate Your Coat
Finding a drop-off site is easy, thanks to:
- Real Estate One/Max Broock Realtors: Local offices will serve as drop-off locations.
- Genisys Credit Union: All branches throughout Oakland County are accepting donations.
Get Involved: Volunteer or Become a Site
Your help will help make this year’s drive a success. If you would like to contribute beyond donating a coat:
- Volunteer: Individuals wishing to help sort and manage coats can sign up here.
- Become a Drop-Off Site: If your business or organization would like to host a collection box, please contact Mandy Ford at fordal@oakgov.com or click here.
