The Ultimate Guide to the 2025 Woodward Dream Cruise 

The Woodward Dream Cruise returns to Oakland County for its 30th year Saturday, Aug. 16. Millions of spectators will gather along Woodward Avenue to witness a rolling museum of thousands of muscle cars, street rods, custom, collector and special interest vehicles from around the world. 

Kicking off at 9 a.m., travel the 16-mile stretch of Woodward and cruise through nine local communities: Berkley, Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Bloomfield Township, Ferndale, Huntington Woods, Pleasant Ridge, Pontiac and Royal Oak.  

Whether you’re a seasoned cruiser or first-timer, here’s a sneak peek and everything you need to know to make the most of this year’s event.

The Dream Cruise is a celebration of automotive culture, with live entertainment, restaurants, retail vendors and pop-up events along the route.  

SMART is providing free rides with SMART-WDC’s Free Shuttle Bus Service. Hop on and off the air-conditioned buses anywhere along Woodward from Ferndale to Pontiac, between 9 a.m.-7 p.m.  

While the main cruise is on Saturday, the festivities kick off Friday with a number of events for all ages. Enjoy the Berkley CruiseFest Classic Car Parade along West 12 Mile Road, check out the Ferndale Emergency Vehicle Show or stop by the Woodward Dream Festival at M1 Concourse Friday, Aug 15. Tips for Enjoying the Dream Cruise 

Spectators can line up along the cruising route or even cruise along with the classics. However, those not driving a classic car are asked to cruise in the left lanes, leaving the two right lanes nearest to the curb for the vintage cars fans are coming out to view.
