The August primary election is quickly approaching and people can now exercise their rights in a variety of different ways: absentee, early, in-person and same-day registration voting.
With the primary election happening on Tuesday, Aug. 6 and the general election happening on Tuesday, Nov. 5, it’s important that voters are aware of the options that are available to cast ballots.
Ways to Vote in Michigan
- Early Voting: Voters are eligible to cast ballots early and in-person at an early voting site prior to election day. Early voting for the primary election begins on July 27.
- Absentee Voting: Voters can vote by mail using an absentee ballot beginning 40 days prior to every election.
- Vote In-Person: Voters can cast their ballots at their polling place on election day.
