Patterson’s 2019 State of the County Address Delivers Message of Continued Economic Growth for Oakland County

Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson delivered the 2019 State of the County address in United Shore’s new Pontiac headquarters on Thursday night. Their new space provided an underscore to Patterson’s overall address: a message of continual economic growth and development in Oakland County.

Patterson opened his address with words of congratulations for Kristin Rohrbeck, as she was revealed as the winner of Oakland County’s Elite 40 under 40 Class of 2019. Rohrbeck, 32, is the director of the Oakland University Joanne and Ted Lindsay Foundation Autism Outreach Services (OUCARES).

New Animal Shelter Brings Exceptional Care to Oakland County Animals

Now in its new, centrally-located facility on the Oakland County Government Campus, it’s easier than ever to stop in and adopt a new furry family member. Several dogs and cats are waiting for “furever” homes. You can view pets before you go by using their Petfinder page. The friendly and knowledgeable staff is ready and waiting to answer questions and share tools for responsible pet ownership. If you’re not yet ready to adopt, become a volunteer and help walk dogs, comfort cats, and more. The Pet Adoption Center is open Monday – Friday, 10 am – 5 pm, and on Saturdays, 10 am – 4 pm.

Watch the 2018 Oakland County State of the County Live

The 2018 Oakland County State of the County address will be held Wednesday, February 7th at The Strand Theatre in Pontiac at 7pm. Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson will address over 600 Oakland County business, community, and political leaders at this invitation-only event. The winner of the Elite 40 Under 40 Class of 2018 will also be revealed during the address and will introduce Patterson. The County Executive will highlight why 2017 was a big year for Oakland County and what we can look forward to in 2018. From the latest in Emerging Sectors to record investment, Patterson will outline why Oakland County is leading innovation.

The speech will be available to the widest possible audience. WDET-FM (101.9) returns to air the speech live. In addition, Oakland County will livestream the event on the County Executive website, OakGov.com/Exec, as well as Oakland County’s YouTube channel, @OakGov, and the Executive Office Facebook page, @OakGov.EO. The county’s Twitter handle, @OakGov, will feature live tweets with highlights from the speech. Those listening to the speech are encouraged to use the hashtag #Brooks2018 to join the conversation. Digital copies of the typewritten speech will be available afterward at OakGov.com/exec and the Executive Office Facebook page.
