My Light Show brings Joy to Oakland County this Holiday Season!

My Light Show is an animated light and sound holiday spectacular in Waterford. Located at 2651 Cherokee Hills Circle, the sensational music and light experience uses 60,000 lights that are synced to a variety of modern-day dance, pop, and holiday music broadcasted on 100.7 FM.

Meet the 2018 Elite 40 Under 40 Class

The newly selected Elite 40 Under 40 Class of 2018 came together for the first time at a special reception prior to the 2018 State of the County address on February 7th, 2018 at the Flagstar Strand Theatre in Pontiac. The class was then recognized in Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson’s address.

“These are all outstanding young men and women who, frankly, give me confidence that the future of Oakland County is in good hands.”

During the Elite 40 reception, the class had the opportunity to get to know one another and mingle with L. Brooks Patterson and other Oakland County officials. The room buzzed with excitement as members networked and discussed their passions, achievements, and the future of Oakland County.

This year’s class of 40 was selected from nearly 400 applications. Nominations were reviewed by a panel of judges, looking for the top young professionals and thought leaders who live or work in Oakland County. The 40 honorees have achieved excellence in their field and contributed to the quality of life in their communities.

Congratulations Oakland County’s 2018 Elite 40 Winner: Dr. Lucetry B. Dalton

Dr. Lucetry B. Dalton, a clinical psychologist with McLaren Health System, was selected by a public online vote as the winner of the Oakland County Executive’s Elite 40 Under 40 Class of 2018.

Dr. Dalton, born and raised in Pontiac, is the youngest Elite 40 Winner at the age of 28. After receiving her doctorate from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Washington DC, Dr. Dalton has returned to Michigan and is active in several non-profit organizations as well as mentors, counsels and tutors minority youths from low-income areas.

Watch the 2018 Oakland County State of the County Live

The 2018 Oakland County State of the County address will be held Wednesday, February 7th at The Strand Theatre in Pontiac at 7pm. Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson will address over 600 Oakland County business, community, and political leaders at this invitation-only event. The winner of the Elite 40 Under 40 Class of 2018 will also be revealed during the address and will introduce Patterson. The County Executive will highlight why 2017 was a big year for Oakland County and what we can look forward to in 2018. From the latest in Emerging Sectors to record investment, Patterson will outline why Oakland County is leading innovation.

The speech will be available to the widest possible audience. WDET-FM (101.9) returns to air the speech live. In addition, Oakland County will livestream the event on the County Executive website, OakGov.com/Exec, as well as Oakland County’s YouTube channel, @OakGov, and the Executive Office Facebook page, @OakGov.EO. The county’s Twitter handle, @OakGov, will feature live tweets with highlights from the speech. Those listening to the speech are encouraged to use the hashtag #Brooks2018 to join the conversation. Digital copies of the typewritten speech will be available afterward at OakGov.com/exec and the Executive Office Facebook page. Post-production versions of the speech will be distributed to local cable channels for re-airing. An American Sign Language Interpreter will also be interpreting during the speech. Continue reading
