Kenneth Hershenson of Clawson was chosen as the winner of the 2015 MI Great Artist award competition for his acrylic on canvas art. Largely self-taught, Kenneth Hershenson, 62, has been painting and drawing for nearly 50 years. A favorite piece in the show, “A Pair of Jacks,” was a an idea that came to him almost 30 years ago, which he has worked to perfect through the years. Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson honored 350 Emerging Sector companies responsible for a total investment of $3 billion in the past 11 years on Tuesday, October 13th, 2015. The sky was the limit with business leaders, government officials, and other attendees at the Oakland County International Airport. The companies were celebrated with several corporate jets and vintage cars for touring, along with a vintage 1928 Ford Tri-Motor Airliner on display. Special guest Edsel Ford, the owner of Pentastar Aviation was also in attendance.

On Wednesday, September 16th, 2015, Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson met with three members of the 2015 Elite 40 Under 40 class of 2015. The forum is designed to allow Elite 40 members a smaller, more intimate setting to connect with the County Executive and each other. The County Executive holds these forums in an effort to build friendships and connections among the Elite 40 and the county’s leadership. Attendees included Amanda Page of Page Law, Nirav Doshi, Managing Partner at Complete Data Products, and Shannon Lazovski of The Lazov Agency. Also in attendance was Irene Spanos, Director of Economic Development and Community Affairs; Kristie Zamora, Elite 40 Program Coordinator; and Bill Mullan, Media and Communications Officer.
