Many of the events give a seasonal twist to iconic Oakland County locations. Examples include Zoo Boo at the Detroit Zoo, Halloween Science at the Cranbrook Institute of Science, and Halloween in Hollygrove in Holly. Others, such as Boo Bash in Addison Oaks, surround attendees with the beautiful fall landscape.

Oakland County is home to a huge variety of perfect swimming spots where we can cool off during the hot summer weather. Plenty of parks lay lakeside and house beautiful beaches, such as Groveland Oaks County Park in Holly or Independence Oaks County Park in Clarkston. If you prefer pools, you can find a pool at Civic Center Park in Southfield or the Red Oaks Waterpark in Madison Heights. If you do like the sand, and are looking for adventure, you can find splash pads and water obstacles at the WhoaZone at Heron Beach in Holly or the Indian Springs Metropark in White Lake.

Snow is Falling – Let’s Hit the Slopes!

Snow is falling in Oakland County and that means it’s a great time to have some winter fun at our area ski resorts. With all three being just a short drive away, you can choose from Alpine Valley in White Lake Township, Mt. Holly in Groveland Township, and Pine Knob in Clarkston. The resorts offer student, child & senior discounts, school ski-clubs, rentals, lessons, and terrain parks. If you’re just starting out on the slopes, have no fear! All three offer beginner hills with tow ropes and magic/wonder carpets to make things easy for you.
