Voting is open! We need your help to choose the winner of the Oakland County Executive’s Elite 40 under 40 Class of 2019. The public can cast an online vote for their favorite of three exceptional finalists: Dr. Candice Colby-Scott, Kristin Rohrbeck, and Nicholas Kristock.
The Fire & Ice Festival in Downtown Rochester is back January 18th–20th for another year of family fun and winter festivities that you can enjoy for FREE. The three-day community celebration will be packed with events like tube sledding, ice skating, dog sled rides, cross-country skiing, ice sculptures along Main Street, fireworks on Friday and Saturday night, The Big, Bright Light Show, live music, TasteFest, and so much more!

Will you be one of the thousands of walkers and runners participating in the 11th Annual McLaren Brooksie Way Half Marathon, 10k and 5k? This year’s Brooksie Way will take place on Sunday, September 23rd on the beautiful grounds of Oakland University.
This family friendly event offers fun race options for your little ones too. Sign them up for the Diaper Dash, Toddler Trot, or Big Kids Race, on Saturday, September 22nd at Meadow Brook Amphitheatre and give them the same race experience as Mom and Dad!

Support local artists and cast your vote to help choose the next MI Great Artist! More than 200 submissions were entered in this year’s art competition. Click HERE to view the gallery of artworks and submit your vote online. Make sure your favorites move on to the semifinals by voting for them daily. Artworks include painting, photography, sculpture, glass, metal works, jewelry, and more. Take a look and see the fine talent submitted from artists across eight Michigan counties for this year’s competition.
Vote for your favorite artists daily from now until noon on Wednesday, September 5th. The 30 entries receiving the most votes will move on to become semi-finalists. A select panel of art professionals will then determine the four finalists, including the overall winner, who will share in a prize package worth more than $16,000. New this year is a “People’s Choice” award, the artist who receives the most votes during public voting will receive $750 in cash and automatically become one of the finalists.
With so many impressive entries to choose from, the public’s help is needed to single out the best of the best. The competition allows individuals to vote for as many artists as they wish each day, but they may only select a particular artist once per day.
