Oakland County is looking for the next class of young adults who are “All Ways, Moving Forward” for the Oakland Together 40 Under 40 Class of 2023. The award program seeks individuals under the age of 40 who are “all ways, moving forward” with high achievement in their professional field, creative innovation, or significant and essential service to their communities.
“Oakland Together 40 Under 40 is awarded to people who are dedicated and committed to improving the quality of life in our county. I want to recognize and engage the next group of Oakland Together 40 Under 40 leaders and continue to support their efforts at creating a community and region that strives for collaboration, innovation, creative problem solving and success.”Oakland County Executive David Coulter
Eligible candidates must be born after Dec. 31, 1982, and live or work in Oakland County. Applicants should also be able to demonstrate high achievement in their respective field, creative innovation or outstanding service in their community. Applications close at 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022.
The 40 finalists, who will be featured on the Oakland Together 40 Under 40 website, will receive invitations to the 2023 State of the County Address and pre-reception and the Oakland Together 40 under 40 Award celebration. They also will be invited to attend other Oakland County events, including meeting in small groups with Executive Coulter.
Executive Coulter revealed his roadmap for Oakland County’s future during his State of the County speech in March. The five-year strategic plan commits Oakland County to “All Ways, Moving Forward,” by making a real and measurable impact in three primary areas: a strong economy, healthy and safe communities, and opportunities for residents to live their best lives.
Young leaders in the Oakland Together 40 Under 40 program can help the county steer a steady course with their input, suggestions, and expertise as we continue to embark on transformational change in Oakland County.
