On Veterans Day, we honor those who have served America in both war and peace, and have made incredible sacrifices to protect our nation. Many Oakland County cities, villages, and townships host Veterans Day events to honor America’s armed forces. Use our list below to observe Veterans Day 2022 and pay tribute at an event near you. There is also a list of Veteran and military discounts available on Veterans Day and all year long, as well as services and events available from the Oakland County Veterans’ Services team.

Oakland County is dedicated to honoring the service of more than 70,000 veterans who call the county “home.” The Oakland County Veterans’ Services division has been providing Oakland County veterans and their families with professional veterans benefits advocacy and assistance for over 60 years.

Nov. 7: Know your VA Benefits online event hosted by Oakland Community College

Nov. 7 – Nov. 13: Operation Green Light for Veterans By shining a green light, we aim to let Veterans know that they are seen, appreciated and supported. Join us in Operation Green Light for Veterans, organized by the National Association of Counties, by changing one light bulb in the entryway of your home or business to a green bulb.

Nov. 17: Veterans Resource Fair in Lake Orion
