Looking for a warm gathering in the middle of a winter wonderland? Come to the Fire & Ice Festival in downtown Rochester!
Running from Friday, January 19th to Sunday, January 21st, Fire & Ice is a three-day community celebration fit for the whole family. From dog sled rides and ice skating, to carriage rides and drink tastings, Fire & Ice has it all! Admission is free and the memories are priceless.
Event Highlights
The Fire & Ice Festival is jam-packed with awesome events for everyone! There are many things to see, do, ride, and eat, so visitors will never be bored — or hungry. Roast some marshmallows and take a carriage ride through the historic Downtown; get a face painting and then go ice skating, or ride on a dog sled and listen to the Festival’s live music!
Here are a few of the extra-special events and activities to look forward to:
Dog Sled Rides
When to Ride:
Jan. 20 from 10am – 4pm
Jan. 21 from 11am – 4pm
You don’t have to travel to the Klondike to experience the thrill of a dog sled ride! This team of furry friends will be on hand to pull visitors around a snowy track.
Ice Carving
When to Watch:
Jan. 20 from 10am – 1pm
Rochester’s Fire & Ice Festival is home to an annual Collegiate Ice Carving Competition, where college students from throughout Southeast Michigan outdo each other with stunning ice sculptures. Take part in the fun by cheering for your favorite piece as it transforms from a block of ice to a lifelike creature!
Ice Skating

Jan. 20 from 11am – 9pm
Jan. 21 from 11am – 4pm
Who doesn’t love to glide across the ice without a care in the world? Lace up and skate around on the Fire & Ice Festival’s open skating rink. The open skate welcomes participants of all skill levels. Skates are not provided, so be sure to bring a pair.
TasteFest

Jan. 20 from 10am – 9pm
Jan. 21 from 11am – 4pm
The tastiest treats in Southeast Michigan will be under one canopy during the Fire & Ice Festival’s TasteFest. From local classics like O’Connor’s Public House and Rochester Mills Beer Company, to regional food truck favorites like Nosh Pit Detroit and Sweetwater Tavern, there is always something for everyone!

Location
The Fire & Ice Festival grounds will be located at Second and Mill Street in Rochester, Michigan. You can check out The Big, Bright Light Show, ice sculpture displays and more along Main Street and throughout the Downtown area.
Parking
Visitors may park in Downtown Rochester or at the Buffalo Wild Wings located at Walton and Livernois. A shuttle will be running between the Buffalo Wild Wings and a drop-off point downtown during the Festival.
