Flying High at the Oakland County Airport Open House

The Oakland County International Airport Open House takes place on Sunday August 23rd in Waterford, Michigan.

Along with the private, commercial, military and experimental aircraft on display, there will be activities for the whole family to experience:

  • Kids Bounce House
  • Rock Wall
  • Radio Controlled Airplane
  • Parachute Jumps
  • Military Vehicles
  • Health and Safety Fair
  • Bill Crell the NASA Guy


You will also have the chance to “take off and fly” at the Open House:

You can climb aboard one of the first mass-produced airliners and step back in time to aviation’s golden age. A flight on a Ford Tri-Motor is a flight back to an era where air travel was considered a luxury and you too can experience the “Tin Goose” on a short flight for only $75.00.

True flight enthusiasts can go into the wild blue yonder in a historic B-25 Bomber for only $400.

For those with more limited budgets, there will be helicopter rides for $35 and airplane rides for $20.

Admission to the Open House is free, while parking is $5

As in past years, a pancake breakfast will be held from 8 am till 11am. The cost for the breakfast is $7 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under.
