The Detroit Zoo’s Dinosauria exhibit is back! As soon as you begin your trek through the 1/2 mile DinoTrail, you’ll immediately feel like you’ve been transported to another world. The DinoTrail features 32 different species of animatronic dinosaurs. Some snarl and hiss, while others actually spit at you. It’s a dinosaur lover’s dream come true!

The “Zoorassic Park” adventure features 40 dinosaurs and is presented by Kroger and Michigan Education Savings Program. It’s going on now and runs through Labor Day (September 7, 2015). With enormous dinos lurking at every turn, you’re sure to be thrilled and get a mega-dose of Vitamin Z too!

You can also enjoy a virtual experience with a Dinosaur Augmented Reality App that you can download before you arrive. When you point your camera phone at special blue and green dinosaur signs throughout the exhibit, the app allows you to view virtual dinosaurs and learn more about them. If you are able to scan all of the signs at Dinosauria, you’ll earn a badge! The DinosaurCo app can also be downloaded via the Detroit Zoo’s free wi-fi, but can take 5-7 minutes if you wait to do it there.

After you make it through the misty, lush and winding DinoTrail, you’ll be able to dig for dinosaur fossils, make dinosaur tracks and visit a gift shop that’s full of all kinds of dinosaur and zoo merchandise. The dino fun goes on and on!

Dinosauria is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (until 8 p.m. on Wednesdays during July and August). Tickets are $5 with Zoo admission for visitors ages 2 and older and are available at main admissions or the Dinosauria ticket booth. For questions about Dinosauria, please contact the Detroit Zoo at info@dzs.org.
